TEARS Animal Rescue needs your help keeping all the dogs and cats in their care warm this winter. Please consider donating warm fleece blankets to TEARS through the Give Warmth Campaign this chilly season.
TEARS Operations Manager, Mandy Store, says, “Winter has only just begun, and we have already experienced freezing temperatures and heavy rain. With only one washing machine, it is a huge challenge to wash and dry all the blankets we need to keep the dogs and cats warm at the shelter. Most of our dogs live in kennels outside, and although the kennels are covered, it can get very cold; the more blankets we have, the better.
Store says fleece blankets work best because they are warmer and last longer. You can drop off the blankets at TEARS or at any of the TEARS thrift shops. You can also buy blankets from Takealot and get them delivered directly to TEARS Animal Rescue: 4 Lekkerwater Road, Sunnydale, Fish Hoek 7975.
Store says, “We hope that everyone is keeping their own pets indoors and warm in the cold and stormy weather we have been experiencing. If you have been considering adopting a pet, now is the time, as every dog or cat that is adopted opens up a spot for another animal to be cared for with us.”
