History of Montego
Founder Hans van Jaarsveld’s journey in the pet food industry started with a leap of faith in the year 2000, when a pet shop trusted the farmer to produce the first batch of Montego Classic Adult, backing his promise with a handshake and turning a small initial order into a trusted brand built on passion and integrity.
Since then, Montego has significantly boosted its production, expanding from 65 tonnes of pet food per month to over 300 tonnes daily, demonstrating remarkable growth and increased capacity to meet the rising demand.
From producing just one single pet product to nine pet brands with over 180 individual pet products, Montego Pet Nutrition went from a family start-up to a household brand in the blink of an eye! Much like a cat reacting to the rustle of a Cosmic Cat Treats packet or a dog catching a Bags o’ Wags bone-shaped treat mid-air -fast, fierce and impressive like Usain Bolt!
