29 January: Puzzle Day in the USA

Celebrated on the 29th of January every year, National Puzzle Day reminds humans how puzzles can keep our brains sharp.

Though a cat’s brain is comparatively smaller than that of other mammals, the structure is quite similar to that of a human’s in that we both have cerebral cortices and lobes. Just as in humans, a cat’s cerebral cortex is responsible for decision-making, learning, and short- as well as long-term memories.

Celebrate the magnificent brains of cats with a cat puzzle

Jigsaw puzzles are great for brain exercises because they exercise both the left and right sides of the brain at once. Puzzles require both logic, intuition, and creativity, and it’s easy to get lost for hours working on them. There are so many new aesthetic puzzle brands and designs out there. The only way puzzles can get any better is if they were dedicated to showcasing the life and times of all things cat! Take a look at these classic cat puzzles and celebrate Puzzle Day with a puzzle themed around cats.
