Petshop Science is the inaugural standalone pet shop within Shoprite’s premium Checkers brand, having opened its first Petshop Science in 2021 at the Checkers Hyper store in Cape Town's Brackenfell suburb, located in Fairbridge Mall.
Checkers is the first South African supermarket to launch a pet shop, rapidly expanding its presence with the launch of the 10th Petshop Science store within just seven months of opening its inaugural location in the Northern Suburbs, close to the Shoprite Mothership in Parow.
The Western Cape is home to four Petshop Science stores, including one in George and three located in the suburbs of Cape Town, as listed below.
