The Cat Action Team (CAT) is a passionate nonprofit organization dedicated to the welfare of Cape Town's abandoned and street cats, especially in industrial regions.
Established in 1999 by Memory Woodford, who was motivated to make a change after witnessing suffering felines, CAT has spent over 25 years operating solely on public and business donations, with no subsidies or grants.
The team feeds around 400 cats daily and employs the effective TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) method for sterilization to control feral populations, while also providing essential medical care.
Additionally, CAT rescues tame cats and kittens from the streets, fostering them and carefully evaluating potential homes to ensure their future well-being.
